She4Cyber Breaking the Gender Bias and Empowering Women in Cyber Security
We are collaborating with this group on a great nearly two year project!
Currently we need those versed in teaching asynchronous educational courses in cyber security, perhaps willing to donate their courses, and those versed in curricula development to let us know if they are able to help further this program!
We are also very interested in those who can arrange for a CTF challenge for the concluding event of the first part of the project.
We’ll be opening a call for mentors later when it is appropriate.
What is it?
United States Mission Turkey Grants Program funding initiative awarded Project Proposal She4Cyber – Breaking the Gender Bias and Empowering Women in Cybersecurity.
The overarching goal of She4Cyber is to (i) increase the capacity and competitiveness of women in the cybersecurity sector through education, (ii) close the gender gap in Turkey by improving employability, and (iii) raise awareness of gender-biased practices. To this end, our Project aims to:
Increasing the capacity of women via creating an online learning platform for 120 female students
Empowering cybersecurity skills via organizing in-class training for 30 female students
Creating role models via providing mentorships for five female students
We would like to establish our International Advisory Board, which will be comprised of international experts from academia, industry, and non-governmental organizations. We intended to collaborate on developing a syllabus, providing mentorship, and developing a strategic plan. The Board will also facilitate the exchange of best practices for cybersecurity.
